RealTime Reporters provides Captioning on the internet using special software we call cSpeech. This allows us to deliver the spoken word translated into text in real time to RealServers, for closed or open captioning in RealPlayers, chat servers, collaborationware, such as NetMeeting, you name it. We even have our own live text viewers, rCART and aCART. These viewers make a direct Internet connection to our cSpeech software to receive live text in real time, and provide the recipient with the ability to scroll, search, annotate, bookmark and save the text of any on-line CART sesstion, be it a college class, boardroom teleconference, or remote deposition. This is a great adjunct to live audio streaming, slide shows and/or video, and is low bandwidth, too. An electronic stenotype (shorthand) machine is connected to a computer that translates the stenotype code into English text and instantly displays the translation wherever we direct it, in real time. Chat applets easily allow feedback from anyone "listening in." As for web pages or Real Players, it can be as simple as a scrolling display or the text can share the real estate with slide shows, video and/or audio. This is a great way to get your message out and acquire realtime responses. This type of work requires extraordinary skill on the part of the stenotypist, as well as an extensive knowledge of many subjects, including hi-tech, medical, legal, financial and other terms of art. In most cases many years of experience, reading and research go into the makeup of a qualified captioner/stenotypist. Our captioners have a minimum of seven years' experience. Also many, many hours are spent programming stenographic outlines into special computer dictionaries so their steno input will be represented by the proper English words on your computer screen. We are often on site for these assignments, but this can usually be accomplished remotely. As long as we can hear the proceedings, we can convert it to text and deliver it. Most of the AT&T broadcasts have been from the east coast while our staff remained in Santa Cruz, California, and most celebrity chats find the interviewer, interviewee and the captioners all in different locations. The same is true for NetSeminars. We have been on site for events for Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Asymetrix, Nike, drkoop.com and others, so of course RTR would be happy to be on site for your event. Our staff has traveled over a million miles providing realtime translation/captioning services. RealTime Reporters is equipped with the latest computer technology,
allowing us to perform our functions virtually anywhere. Backup equipment
and staff are always on hand to make sure your realtime session always
goes off as planned. Since our first realtime project in 1985,
we have never failed to meet the requirements of an assignment. And don't forget, you can also request a textual archive which can be used for disseminating your information via replay, hardcopy, the Internet usenet news groups, your web or ftp site, e-mail, etc., as well as providing future reference for yourself or your company. Although we consider all project material to be proprietary to our clients, RealTime Reporters does archive all projects! Can't find your copy? Give us a call and within minutes we can supply the information you seek. E-Mail: RealTime Reporters, |
